1.23 Custom Instructions and New Open-Weight Models (Oct 1, 2026)

With release 1.23, you can set preferences for how MAIA answers. Six new open-weight models are also available in the model picker.

⚙️ Custom Instructions

Open "Personalization" in your account settings and describe how MAIA should respond, such as your preferred language, tone or formatting. Your instructions save automatically and apply across your workspaces from your next message, including in existing chats. You can enter up to 2,000 characters. If your current request conflicts with a saved preference, MAIA follows your current request.

🤖 New models

Choose Apertus 70B, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, Gemma 4, GLM 5.3, Mistral 4 or Qwen 3.8 in the model picker. These are open-weight models hosted in Germany. Select a model manually when you want to use it for your chat. The "Auto" option does not select these models.

🔧 Other Improvements

We also fixed minor bugs and improved stability.
