1.20 Chat Search, Improved File Picker, and New Models (Aug. 20, 2026)

Hello MAIA user,

Release 1.20 introduces three new features and includes minor bug fixes. Here’s an overview of the most important changes.

With version 1.20, you can finally find information in old chats using the search function. The new file picker is also now available to all users. New models are also available in the chat: Claude Sonnet and Claude Opus 5.

1️⃣ 🔍 Chat Search: Find Old Conversations Instantly

Until now, you had to scroll through the entire chat list to find a past conversation or specific information. The more chats you had in MAIA, the more tedious this became. Now it’s easier: Click the magnifying glass icon above the chat list to open a search bar and find your conversations in seconds.

Here’s what’s new:

✅ The search field is located under the magnifying glass icon directly above the chat list

✅ You can search by title, message content, and date

✅ Results show up to 3 relevant message snippets per chat, which are highlighted

in the chat

✅ Clicking on a snippet opens the corresponding message and briefly highlights it

This way, even with a large number of chats, you can instantly find the right conversation and the specific part you’re looking for.

2️⃣ 📁 New file picker: now available to everyone

The redesigned file picker was previously in beta. With Release 1.20, it’s available to everyone.

Here’s what’s new:

✅ Minor improvements to usability and appearance ✅

As usual: filtering, sorting, and a true search via MAIA and SharePoint

✅ Flat navigation instead of a nested folder tree

3️⃣ 🤖 New models in chat

In addition, three new models are now available in the model selection. Depending on the task, you can choose between depth and speed.

What’s new:

✅ Claude Opus 5 (replaces Opus 4.6) for the most demanding, multi-step tasks such as in-depth research and complex analyses

✅ Claude Sonnet 5 (replaces Sonnet 4.6) as a powerful all-rounder for everyday use—thorough yet fast
