1.7: Reranking (Apr 15, 2025)

Last updated 11 months ago

With the new release, MAIA is getting a major upgrade in the background: Reranking. Alongside bug fixes and optimisations, this is the most significant new feature - even if it is not visible at first glance.

๐Ÿ”Ž What is reranking?

Previously, when asked a question such as โ€˜What is the best comparison product for X?โ€™, MAIA used a semantic search to identify relevant text excerpts from documents and sort them according to an initial relevance assessment.

With our new update, we have integrated an advanced reranking step into our complex analysis process. This additional evaluation step further refines the sorting of the text passages found.

This means that MAIA analyses the relevant excerpts already found even more intensively and re-evaluates their relevance in the context of your specific query. As a result, the text excerpts with the highest information value for your query are prioritised even better.

โœ… The result: even more accurate answers that prioritise the information that really matters - particularly valuable for complex or multi-layered queries.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Further bug fixes

โš ๏ธ Non-GPT models (Llama, Mistral, Gemini, Claude) occasionally did not respond to longer prompts - this has now been fixed.
๐Ÿ“ Footnotes did not open for documents in subfolders (โ€˜Something went wrongโ€™) - this has also been fixed now.
๐Ÿ“„ Preview for Confluence documents did not work correctly - the documents can now be opened successfully via the link preview.

โŒ MAIA search has been removed

We have removed the separate MAIA search function, as you can already use all search functions completely via the MAIA chat. You won't lose any functions as a result - simply continue to carry out your searches directly in the chat, as you are probably already used to.

We look forward to your feedback and wish you a happy Easter weekend. Your MAIA team ๐Ÿ
