Frequently Requested Features

We’re thrilled that our users have so many great ideas on how to make MAIA even better. This page provides an overview of the most frequently requested features and their current status.

We deliberately never commit to features that extend beyond the next 6 weeks—but we take every single piece of user feedback very seriously and incorporate it into our planning. You can always find the current status on public roadmap.

Excel Support

We know that a large part of our users’ knowledge is stored in complex Excel files with multiple tabs, formulas, and charts. Extracting this knowledge cleanly is a challenge—but Excel support is at the top of our priority list and is coming soon. MAIA will soon be able to read and analyze Excel files just like any other document.

If there are specific file types you’d like to chat with, please let your contact person or account executive know!

Advanced File Formats (PST, XML & More)

In addition to Excel, we’re working to expand support for additional file formats. These include PST files, XML, and many other structured formats. We prioritize based on the most commonly used file types among our user base.

If there are specific file types you’d like to work with, please let your contact person or account executive know!

Outlook & Teams Integration

Integration with Microsoft communication tools is a priority and is coming soon. We are evaluating both access to historical data (emails, chats) and real-time integration.

Temporary Files & Drag-and-Drop

Drag documents directly into the chat to perform quick ad-hoc analyses—without having to upload them to the knowledge base first. Perfect for one-off questions or spontaneous tasks. This feature is already in active planning and will be available in the coming months.

Project Structure

Many users would like the ability to organize conversations into projects—similar to what is available in other AI tools. This would allow related chats and documents to be grouped together and managed within the context of a specific topic or assignment. We are evaluating how to implement this concept in a way that offers the greatest value in the context of internal corporate knowledge and document management.

Generating Output Files

“Hey MAIA, please export this as a Word document”—the automatic generation of specific file types by MAIA is a frequently requested feature. However, working with proprietary file formats is a major challenge, whereas text is a universal interface that, in all use cases we’ve seen so far, doesn’t significantly slow down our users’ work. So far, there isn’t strong demand for any single specific file type. But we’ll only know that if you tell us!
