Popular Feature Requests

We love that our users have so many great ideas about how to make MAIA better. This page contains some information about some most frequently requested features and when you might be able to expect them.

While we don’t commit to any features beyond the next 6 weeks, we still take every single insight we got from our users very serious and put it into our logs so we can make the best decisions, when it comes to planning out the next 6 week segments (always up to date on the public roadmap).

Web Crawling

Any type of web crawling-like interaction with URLs through the chat interface is a highly requested feature. Unfortunately, as heavily requested this feature is, it is just as diverse - meaning almost no request for “web-crawling like” interaction is alike (Is it a search? For gated pages with paid login - like newspapers? Crawling all 1,000+ pages with PDFs or just one? On schedule every day?…). Nevertheless, we’re actively exploring ways to incorporate both web-based, and more up-to-date data into the MAIA knowledge base in 2025.

Excel, PST, Older File Version Support

We understand that tons of knowledge of our users is locked inside complex multi-tab Excel files and other file types. But Excel files (or PSTs) contain very different kinds of structures, numbers, formulas, graphics and properly extracting that knowledge is hard. However the underlying technology is getting better every day, so we’re looking forward to expanding our support for file types in 2025, with the Microsoft-based files leading the charge. We’ll prioritize by most used file types across the user base.

Outlook & Teams Support

Integration with Microsoft communication tools is a priority. We're evaluating both accessing historical data (emails, chats) and real-time integration, one and both ways.

Image/Diagram Creation

While AI image creation is evolving rapidly, our focus remains on processing and understanding technical diagrams and product images within your documents. We aim to enhance MAIA's ability to reference and explain existing visual content rather than generate new images. We however are exploring ways to incorporate specific useful images, like for instance diagrams, into existing answers.

ChatGPT-like Features (Drag n Drop, Projects, Setting a Tone,…)

ChatGPT and other conversational AI systems have tons of usability features like the drag and drop functionality for files that we love. In 2025, we’ll start to select the list of features that is most valuable to our user base, especially in the context of working with documents and internal company knowledge and implement them in a way, that makes MAIA even more useful.

Generating Output Files

"Hey MAIA please export this as Word-Document" - Having MAIA automatically generate a certain type of file is often talked about. However, working with proprietary file formats is a hard challenge, whereas text is a universal interface, that in all use cases we saw, doesn’t significantly slow down our users in their workflows. So far, we haven’t seen significant demand for one single type of file. But we won’t know if you won’t let us know, so …
